Golf Injuries

Sports Related Musculoskeletal Injuries.

Golf injuries are physical injuries or strains that occur during the game of golf, often due to repetitive motion, poor technique, or overuse. While golf is generally a low impact sport, it requires complex movements involving the back, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and knees making these areas vulnerable to injury.

Golf injuries are often caused by poor swing technique, lack of flexibility, overuse, or improper equipment. Common injuries include golfer’s elbow (pain on the inner elbow), back pain from spinal rotation, shoulder strain or rotator cuff injuries due to overuse, wrist and hand injuries from gripping the club, and knee pain from twisting during swings or walking the course. These injuries can be prevented by warming up properly, using correct swing mechanics, strengthening core and joint-supporting muscles, and avoiding overplaying.
